NC School Children’s Health Act

Pest management professional performing a crack and crevice treatmentThe School Children’s Health Act was enacted on October 1, 2006.  The law required all public schools in North Carolina to:

  1. Notify parents/guardians and staff annually of the schedule of non-exempt pesticide applications for the school facility of concern.
  2. Provide parents/guardians and staff with the opportunity to be notified 72 hours in advance of any nonscheduled and non-exempt pesticide applications on school property.
  3. Implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs by October 1, 2011.
